SYNOPSIS:

“In POSTCARD TO DADDY dokumentiert Michael Stock seinen Versuch der Bewältigung des jahrelangen sexuellen Missbrauchs in der Kindheit durch den eigenen Vater.” aus: Teddy Award TV. (Preisverleihung im Zuge der Berlinale 2010.)

As child Michael was sexual abused, now he has made a documentary about. With interviews, engagement and also love he investigate in his own an the family history. Sister, Mother, brother and father are talking wath was happend in early days.

I worked for this film in order to create the title very deeply, because such kind of acts should not be happend – but – as everybody knows – they do happen.

I formed a very emotional animation, looking forward to the content from this documentation.

The Logo: there is a black area, a big one – symbol for sadness and grief.

The “O” from the word “TO” is a connection symbol: connected with this griefarea and connected to the underline, the deeper meening in this. The animation begins with the word postcard only. Through time the other follows. Hear to the audio: the falling of the postcard is heavy, oppositional to the real noise in reality. Aware of the heavy and serios content from this film the audio could not be soft in my ears and heart. The “T” is screaming and the word “DADDY” is a little bit scary. Like the theme.
